Each participant in our directory has signed a pledge to to create and maintain an inclusive and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals within their business including for: employees, clients, guests and others. They have committed to the following criteria to ensure their business is welcoming and affirming to all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression: a non-discrimination policy, the use of inclusive language, diverse hiring practices, training and education for employees, and fostering a supportive environment for both customers and staff.
In addition, Delaware County Pride has provided each participant with a powerpoint about supporting queer customers they can share with staff. This presentation was created in collaboration with Inclusive Sexuality.
